Our Learning and Collaboration in Science

We have been lucky enough to find a real scientist for our unit on scientific thinking. He used to be a teacher at our school but now is teaching in Kobe, Japan. He is @iBiologystephen on Twitter.

We had to look on the map to see where that was and we think its not too far away. Mr Taylor answered our questions on science, scientific thinking and sound. He also asked us questions and we tried to find out the answer from the internet, or by asking other people we know.

Thanks Mr Taylor.

Our First Collaborative Story

Here is our first story that the two grade 1 classes created using StoryBird .

This is just a sample of what we wanted to do. It was more about playing around with the tools and connecting with each other. The kids were just getting to know each other around October and we skyped and tweeted beforehand. Then we decided to make a story. This is what they came up with.
